Long ago David wrote a psalm/song describing how every generation of the Lord's people would speak about
His majesty, and tell of His mighty acts and wonderful works, so that all mankind would have a chance to know about His glorious,
eternal kingdom. (Psalm 145) From generation to generation, people have been passing along the good news about the Lord and
His kingdom. Thanks be to God for everyone in previous generations who spoke, who told, so that we could have faith today!
How else could we have come to know this great message?
Many years after David, Jesus said to
his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into his harvest field." (Matthew 9:35-38)
When we ask and allow the Lord to send
us to do the same thing today that our spiritual ancestors did, we join the long line of people who keep this message moving
forward and out into the world. This is what the Lord's people do. They are eager, willing and ready to be sent out as the
Lord's kingdom workers, to speak (or for the Deaf, to sign), and to tell others about the Lord's enduring, eternal kingdom
- wherever they are, wherever they go.
Kingdom Workers is a new song, and at the same time, it
is a long familiar song, passed down through the ages, one generation to another. Let us keep the message moving forward!
There is work to be done.
